What is a Blog - Carrie Carlson

  • What is a Blog? - A blog is a website that either one person or several people operate. These individuals have informal posts and interactions, typically over a common topic.
  • Why should you learn to "blog" as a future teacher? - Blogs can create an  educational environment where the students, parents, and other adults can stay up to date on what is going on in the classroom. It can also allow students to learn how to communicate with other individuals via the internet.
  • Locate two examples of blogs that are used for education by teachers, students, schools or other entities.  Post links to those blogs in your post. : http://blog.cathyjonelson.com & http://www.learningismessy.com/blog/
  • What is the purpose?  Why did you choose these? - The purpose of Cathy Nelson has won several awards and focuses in on technology integration within the classroom. This also pertains to my personal blog that is in progress for this class. The second link regards at risk students. The author, Brian Crosby, wants educators to know that learning is not linear and that it should be personalized for students.
