Tech Skills 3: Blog Post - Talia Perez

1.  What is a blog?

  • A blog is a website where people can create content based on their interests, opinions, and experiences.

2.  Why should you learn to "blog" as a future teacher?

  • I should learn to blog as a teacher so I can communicate with a large variety of teachers and/or educators.
  • As a teacher, I can use blogging services to publish my educational philosophy as well as many other topics on education.
  • I can publish different blogs on my blog page and other teachers and/or educators can provide feedback that will further enhance my teaching career. I can also go to other teacher's blog posts and provide feedback for them as well.

3.  Locate two examples of blogs that are used for education by teachers, students, schools or other entities. Post links to those blogs in your post.

  • TeachThought
    • TeachThought is a blog that dedicates ideas and brands to K-12 education.
    • Its purpose is to innovate education through many teaching methods including leadership, professional development, curriculum development, collaboration, etc.
    • I like this blog because it provides lots of research methods that will help teachers be more effective in their classroom.
  • The Learning Network
    • The Learning Network is a blog that is created by the New York Times
    • It lets teachers, students, and parents use sources from the New York Times to create content in different subjects in history including American History, Civics, Current Events, and Social Studies.
    • I like this blog because it provides lots of history resources that teachers can use in their classrooms.
